Bottle shared at home. Clear pale golden with no head. Tart applejuice, bit woody and light gluey. Sharp sweet pinch and quite strong sour. Medium body and low fizz. Not my favorite today. Extremely sweet and sour at the same time. Toothwrecking, salty mineral character, dry watery finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Cidre D'Avrolles on 20 Mar 2020 at 22:52 - Score: 6. Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Clear light golden, big fizzy head that only lasts a few seconds. Crisp tart apple, lemon, peach, light funk, light herbal, soft woody tannins. Over medium sour, solid medium sweet and light bitter. Solid medium bodied with crisp feel. OK but too sour I think. It's like those sweet/sour candies. Puckering.

Bottle shared at home. Bought in a small cave. I’ll look up the towns name, it was: Pénestin! (Penistown, how could I forget?!). The couple owning the cave (Cave “La Boutique des Producteurs” across the street from the church) produced their own wines and explained they only sold cider from an acquainted couple. Very friendly people. The bottle pours a clear golden, completely flat looking cider. The first notes are smokey, woody, very dry, old peels, greasy cheese, thyme, yellow paprika, soft oily and funky in the background. Wow. This is quite a stunner. Juicy and sweet up front, greasy and dry in the finish, quite some tannins at play. Moderate sweet and bitter, almost no notable sourness, maybe just some apple tartness. Over medium body, soft and greasy oily feel, sticks to the glass like a proper wine. Soft and little carbonation. Really nice stuff. Goes on the Would-like-some-more-please list.

Bottle from little wine cave in Pénestin. Shared at the cidershack, Domaine Pouldroit, Piriac-sur-Mer. Light golden with white bubbles on top. Sweet and dry apples, quite some hay and barnyard funk. Moderate sweet and bitter. Very dry. Medium body and quite some fizzy carbonation.

Bottle shared thanks to sjogro in Piriac Sur Mer. Clear golden with white head that actually stays a bit and has some lacing. Dry tart apple, deep funk, dank cellar, bitter apple peel, soft horse, cow sweat, mineral notes, earthy. Light sweet, tart and bitter. Medium bodied, strong fizzy carbonation and bone dry finish. Nice, but too much carbonation.
