Distelhäuser Brauerei
Regional Brewery
in Tauberbischofsheim,
Baden-Württemberg,
Germany 🇩🇪
Associated Venue: Distelhäuser Brauhaus
Established in 1811
In Distelhausen, 23 different kinds of beer are currently produced according to traditional regional brewages. Due to the long-lasting and trustful co-operation with domestic business partners and gastronomy and because of the tight coupling with regional suppliers from agriculture, industry and services, "Distelhäuser Brauerei" considerably supports regional economy in Franconia of Tauber River since the raw materials used are traditionally mainly from the region.
The brewery is a founding member of the Die Freien Brauer (Independent Brewers) initiative, an association of medium-sized private breweries in Germany and Austria. As early as 1956 the brewery involved its staff in various forms in the profits.

Bottled 500ml. -Courtesy of and shared with Marko (thanks). Cloudy yellow/orange coloured, big creamy white head, fruity yeasty nose. Moderate malty, yeasty and fruity with notes of cloves. Also mild lactic. Not bad but rather ordinary weizen.

Another one from Würzburg, shared with ogivlado. Poured a murky pale ochre body with a medium sized white head. Caramel nose, light cloves, full and quite nice. The same follows into the taste, which is quite lactic to boot. Ok but not as impressive as the score suggests.

330ml bottle. Clear orangey golden colour with average, firm, micropore, minimally lacing, white head. Grainy, minimally strawy aroma, a minimally sourish touch, a decent spicy hay note. Taste is monotonous, slightly mineralic grainy, a touch of hay, already slightly watery simply fades out.

Bottled. Amber colour with a mediumsized fluffy/foamy head. Aroma is caramel malts, some mild floral and herbal hops along with mild toffeeish notes as well. Flavour is mild toasted notes, some caramel malts, toffee, mild sugary notes as well as some slight floral, herbal and earthy notes. Pleasant, but could do with slightly more bitterness.

Mild herber Start, in dem helle Getreidenoten eine untergeordnete Rolle spielen. Der Mittelteil zeigt sich wässrig mit geringer Bitterkeit, die sich zum Ende leicht steigert. Hellmalziger Abgang. 12/9/8/7/8/7

Bottle: Pale golden, hazy, smaller stable white head with a little lace, spicy fruity-hoppy nose with yeast and grains underneath; light to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied; quick fruity-bitter finish. Nice, but not too demanding...

(bottle) Cloudy, orange-golden colour with a big and slightly off-white foamy head. Yeasty malty aroma with fruity notes of apricots, citrus and mildly spicy hops in the background. Moderately sweet-bitter flavour with a tinge of sourness, light to medium bodied with a lively carbonation. Malty and slightly sour-doughy taste with fruity and slightly herbal hoppy notes; dry-ish, mildly bitter hoppy finish with herbal and subtle fruity notes. Likeable, but without any extravaganzas. 06.IX.12

Bottled 500ml (BZ, BB 11/2012)
Slightly hazy golden color, good white head. Aroma is a bit fruity, some grainy notes, light yeast and metal. Light to medium bodied. Papery maltyness with some sweetish apple fruity notes. Dry, watery finish. Low bitterness. Uninspiring.
