6/10
Chestnut brown with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of toasted bread, dark sugar, toffee and anise. Sweet malty (very malty for a Belgian style ale) and spicy flavour, with a slightly roasted note and husk-like bitterness in the finish.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear golden with a white head. Slightly phenollic nose with a hint of butter. Medium body, sweet fruitiness but also horribly phenollic and even a tad moldy. Slight tartness. Stay away. 090724

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a cloudy, opaque, dark brown with a small, rough, beige head. Dark, dried fruit in the nose paired with fat diacetyl. Rich, sweet body - but almost flat. Dark, dried fruit, licorice and molasses. Some warming alcohol. Sloppy craftmanship. 080724

Bottle 50 cl. Pours an opaqie, dark brown with a small, beige head. Nose is loads of diacetyl paired with Bamberg smoke. Medium body, sweet and sugary, some licorice, some roast and a hint of smoke. Some roast bitterness in the finish. Drinkable though, if you can get beyond the butterscotch nose. 290524

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a hazy amber with a small, rough, off-white head. Medicinal, chemical aroma - totally off. Thin-bodied, low in carbonation, a hint of caramel and then the same chemical notes as mentioned above. Crude, finishing bitterness. An utter drainpour. 290524

Bottle 50 cl. Clear, orangey brown with a small, beige head. Unclean, odd crystal malt aroma. Medium body, sweet caramel and brown sugar notes with perhaps a faint hint of honey. Subdued bitterness - if any at all. 280524

Bottle 50 cl. Pours an ugly, murky, grayish golden with hardly any head at all. Unclean, citrusy or even perfumy nose. Medium body with hardly any bitterness. Fruity, yeasty, grainy with a slight, finishing bitterness. Well... 160524

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear amber with a small, rough off-white head. Heavy toffe nose from the crystal malts. Medium body, massively biscuity but well attenuated and hence totally dry. Not bad. 160524

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear brown with an orange hue. Small, dissipating, off-white head. Nutty, slightly roasty. Body is quite thin for the style, roasty, slightly ashy with little bitterness. Somewhat underwhelming. 130524
