Hazy, fairly bright medium orange body, thin off-white head. Light nose, mostly citrus-tropical fruit juice, with some grassy notes. Fairly crisp, grassy body, a blend of citrus and tropical fruits, including guava, stone fruits, and peach, with a touch of lemon in the finish. Smooth. Solid.

Can. Pours a slightly hazy yellow with an orange hue and an off white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has grass and earthy citrus with a hint of earthy pine underlying. Flavor has grass and earthy pine up front with a touch of dry citrus in the finish.

Can from 8 Degrees Plato. Pours a clearish golden orange with a finger of white foam that dissipates. Bright tangerine, mango and pineapple aromas on the nose. Light and a touch watery on the palate....a bit of an oily texture as it warms. Piney bitterness, orange pith and dried pineapple on the finish. A little bit of twiggy bitterness that lingers.

Can from 8 Degrees Plato. Pours a hazy gold with a finger of white foam that lingers. Pithy citrus on the nose with dried apricot, pineapple and some leafy hop aromas. Mango, pineapple and tangerine on the palate with some dank piney notes on the finish. A bit dry for the style, but not off-putting. Good stuff.

Draft at 8 Degrees Plato. Pours a deep brown to black with a small ring of beige foam that dissipates. Big nose with bourbon, vanilla, cacao and strong coconut aromas. As it warms the boozy aromas start to dissipate and the coconut, toasted brownie and cacao nib notes really open up. Palate shows wood, cacao nib, light blueberry notes as it warms. Tons more chocolate and cacao with a slight warming finish and more coconut. Like a coconut bourbon ball, but quite balanced. Great beer from a new-to-me brewery.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 8/2017. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy pale golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of huge sour/tart/tangy red cherries, peach, plum, nectarine, apricot, fruit skin/pits, lychee, lemon, lime, pear, mango, melon, berries, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, and white bread; with lighter notes of peppercorn, leathery/musty/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Amazing aromas with fantastic complexity and balance of stone fruits, fruity/funky/acidic/spicy yeast, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with big strength. Taste of huge sour/tart/tangy red cherries, peach, plum, nectarine, apricot, fruit skin/pits, lychee, lemon, lime, pear, mango, melon, berries, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, and white bread; with lighter notes of peppercorn, leathery/musty/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, fruit tang, and light Brett spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of sour/tart/tangy red cherries, peach, plum, nectarine, apricot, fruit skin/pits, lychee, lemon, lime, pear, mango, melon, berries, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, peppercorn, leathery/musty/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of stone fruits, fruity/funky/acidic/spicy yeast, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tart/sourness and tangy fruit balance; with minimal puckering flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering tart/sourness, tangy fruit, and carbonation. Medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth and moderately grainy/acidic/tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.6%. Overall this is an amazing fruited sour/wild ale! All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of stone fruits, fruity/funky/acidic/spicy yeast, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp to drink with the modestly acidic/tangy/tannic/drying finish; not overly lactic. Amazing balance of super juicy/jammy stone fruits and Brett/Bacteria complexity; with a nice pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity for the ABV. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp acidic/tangy dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and top tier quality style example.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 10/24/2018. Over carbonated can, but probably the intent? Pours fairly hazy/cloudy pale golden yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with amazing retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts the whole glass. Thick creamy soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Amazing appearance. Aromas of lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, mango, watermelon, apricot, red apple, gooseberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/zest, wood, mint, light peppercorn/pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/fairly earthy hops and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, mango, watermelon, apricot, red apple, gooseberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/zest, wood, mint, light peppercorn/pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, mango, watermelon, apricot, red apple, gooseberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/zest, wood, mint, light peppercorn/pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/fairly earthy hops and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Very crisp/clean finishing. Moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and carbonation. High carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth and moderately bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Light lingering resins/rinds through the glass. Minimal warming alcohol for 5.9%. Overall this is an excellent brut IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/fairly earthy hops and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and pretty refreshing to drink with the moderately drying bitter/carbonated finish. Not aggressive at all. Feels like mostly El Dorado/Nelson. Very vibrant and fairly juicy/dank/earthy hop complexity; with a nice clean pale/wheat malt backbone. Zero residual sweetness with the crisp carbonated finish. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example. They definitely nailed the Champagne aspect of this one.
