Bottle from the brewery drank at our Urbanz hostel. Clear amber with fluffy beige head. Light toasted malts, peach, apple, raw cocoa, soft dank hops, grassy, light caramel, soft grapefruit. Medium sweet, bitter and bodied. Really like a extra hopped red ale, which is almost more than you can expect nowadays. Decent.

Tap at Volstead. Slight hazy golden with very small white head. Light ginger, flowery, sour lactic grains, lime, sweet malts, light herbal with thyme and oregano. Medium sour, light sweet and salty. Just medium bodied.

500ml bottle. Pours cloudy brown, no way to see through. Malty nose, almost red aleish taste, strong malty body, sweet and bitter. Oily texture. Good finish.

On keg (probably my first keg rating) at Pomeroy’s, Christchurch. Pours a soft medium head resulting in a low carbonation, almost too pale. Fits well with the low-key but good taste. Is this what a bitter should taste like? In that case I think I’m gonna like bitters.

Bottled from tap. Pours clear amber, not sure if the lack of foam comes from the bottling. Taste is mostly hops, but quite mild. Hints of sourness, refreshing, sessionable. Not outstanding though.

Draft at The Last Word. Clear golden yellow color, thick white head, solid lacing. Aroma of white pepper and straw, subtle white bread. Taste is clean and crisp peppery citrus. Delicious.
