12 ounce at the brewery - dark ruby, nearly black - sticky tan lace - creamy texture - rich, bready, earthy maltiness - a bit of peat, dark bread, dark fruit (plum) - a bit of spiciness through the middle - dense and rich, with a lightly spicy and warming finish - I quite dig it.

12 ounce at the brewery - lightly hazy gold - mildly sweet up front, but gets dry, rustic, and peppery through the middle - light tart lemon character on the tail end, along with moderate bitterness, continuing pepper, melon - a touch of funkiness in the finish - it’s a nice rendition.

Taster at the brewery. Pours dark brown, with a small, tan head. The aroma is cinnamon, toffee, pecan, dark chocolate, and dates. Sweet and malty and a bit boozy, with a roasty, herbal bitterness. Heavy, chalky, and biting. Delicious and interesting.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy, yellow color, with a small, frothy, white head. The nose is orange juice, grainy rye, lemon zest, pine sap, and hay. Dry and musty, with a light, citrusy bitterness. Bready, biting, and surprisingly quaffable.

Small pour at the brewery. Pours a hazy, straw color, with a small, off-white head. The aroma is perfume, papaya, white sugar, and wet grass. Dry and astringent, with an unpleasant bitterness. Light body, with a crisp, acrid mouthfeel. This is an interesting IPA, but not great.

Small pour at the brewery. Pours a darker, unclear, orange color, with a small, beige head. The aroma is guava, pine sap, thyme, dust, and caramel. Sweet and yeasty, with a heavy, sticky bitterness. Light body, with a syrupy, chewy palate. This is a pretty nice pale ale, with some good yeast character.
