Light 'amber ale' by a craft brewery in Gothenburg, bought at a local supermarket in Bromma. Medium thick, frothy and moussey, off-white, slowly breaking head on a crystal clear, warm and deep cognac-tinged orange amber robe. Rather perfumey aroma of orange blossom, biscuit, old crackers, pink peppercorn, dried violets, rosewater, vague caramel sauce somewhere, hibiscus tea. Sweetish, clean and rounded onset, some dried apricot and marmalade hints, lively carb with oily mouthfeel - feeling fuller than the ABV would suggest. Pleasantly biscuity core with cracker- and peanut-like edges under fast growing citrus pith-like and peppery hop bitterness, carrying some herbal to even perfumey notes retronasally (the hibiscus tea and violets again), very flowery, with a long, bittering, spicy finish in which a refreshing minerality keeps lingering too. Something metallic 'zings' as well - in a somewhat 'blood-like' way, not feeling too unnatural, probably related to the brewing water or something... In all, pleasant enough, but more perfumey than I was expecting and in its aromatic hoppiness, feeling a tad West Coast IPA-like from afar as well. Typical U.S. style 'generic' hoppy amber ale - in a very oldschool kind of way. I thought beers like this had gone extinct by now...

Can 33 cl. Pours a hazy golden with a small roughishyet lacing, white head. Fresh, citrusy nose. Medium body, a slightly sweet fruitiness with a hint of caramel. Fresh hoppy finish if not overly bitter. A straight and well made old school APA. 090826

Can 33 cl. Pours a clear, deep amber with a lacing, off-white head. Dry biscuity nose. Medium body, an initial caramelly sweetness but quickly dries out to finish on the hoppy side for a Vienna. Pleasantly drinkable. 050826
