Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of malt, spices, and fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, ginger, and straw, leading to a bitter finish.

Small white head. Hazy orange body with strong carbonation. Fruity nutmeg and cloves aroma with sugary notes. Dryish spicy sandalwood and cloves taste with cinnamon and fruit notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish seeds of paradise and nutmeg taste with gingery cinnamon notes. Interesting, and full of flavour, but perhaps a bit over-spiced at the end of the day. (0.33l bottle, from Rosses i Torrades, Barcelona.)

Bottle courtesy of Euro Summer Santa. Pours fairly clear deep golden with a frothy offwhite head that doesn’t leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is slightly malty and spicy with crackers, caramel, ginger, hay, dry soil, dandelions, cloves and lemon zest. Taste is slightly sweet, tiny bitter and spicy. Mouthfeel is crisp, round, tiny dry, slightly astringent and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with crackers, caramel, dandelions, ginger, cloves, white pepper corns, hay, dry soil and lemon zest. Too sweet and too spicy... --- Beer merged from original tick of El Secreto del Abad Saison on 12 Feb 2016 at 19:55 - Score: 5. Original review text: Too sweet and too spicy...

330ml bottle at home from my European Secret Santa Clockk, many thanks. Bottled 03/2015, BB 08/2016. dark orange clear color, medium big white head. strong smell of herbs, thyme, sweet herbs, rosemary, flowery. decent enough smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. taste of sweet herbs again, thyme, lemon grass, citric notes, some sweetness, slightly flowery. finishes with sweet herbs, slight tobacco. decent enough, I like my Saisons more acidic though and less sweet. Overall rather unique beer, with the sweetness its a bit hard to drink a whole bottle alone.
