This first batch is 7%. Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a clear deep gold body that has a copper hued core that supports an off white head. The aroma offers up spicy Cascade hops, citrus, a touch of floral hops and then a light sense of malts. The taste delivers nice bitter citrus and spicy hops flowing into a ribbon of citrus hop juiciness and just a sense of floral hops. The malts show up midway and are then cut down by the fairly rich bitter and lightly juicy hops. This is just clean and deep and goes down oh so well.

Poured up nitro tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a deep dark mahogany colored body that supports a tight dark tan head. The aroma offers up dark roasted malts, chocolate malts and a mild spicy sort of lactose sensation. The taste delivers a pleasing blend of chocolate and softened dark roasted malts flowing into a mild lactose drying note. It seems to pull up a sliver of sweet dark fruity esters from time to time that’s working well here. This is very nice with a rewarding level of chocolate goodness.
