Bottled. A yellow beer with a white head. The aroma has notes straw and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and straw, leading to a bitter finish.

(Bottle 33 cl) Slightly hazy amber golden with a frothy, off-white head leaving some lacework. Sweetish aroma of fruit and alcohol. Surprisingly light even watery body. Lightly sweet caramel notes but no real malt base in there. A little raw and crude hops in the finish. Terribly unbalanced. 190208

(Bottle 33 cl) Pours a clear, amber golden with a small, rough, white head. Sweetish malty nose with some overripe fruit. Medium-bodied with lightly sweet malts - perhaps a touch of caramel. Short, dry finish. So far definitely the best Matsons - without it really saing much... 190208

(On tap) Clear, brown with an orange hue and a small, off-white head. Light aroma of burned malt and a wee buttery whiff. Light and a little watery with only a touch of burned malts. The finish is dry with a wee malt astrigency. I believe this is the thinnest NZ Dark Ale ever. 190208
