The appearance was a black color with a film of a white foamy head that fell off pretty quick. No lace.
The aroma had some roast, coffee beans, coffee grinds, light toast, doughiness and then some cereal grainy sweetness.
The flavor mainly kept the prior mentioned aromas together somewhat sweet and with the roast coming in for a decent blend. Soft bitterness. Fairly nice blend in the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Decent carbonation and ABV.
Overall, worthy porter of having again.

The appearance was a slight transparent amber sort of color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a moderate pace. Some lace.
The aroma had a nice blend of grassy to citrusy hops, bitter and sweet flowing into a nice caramel/toffee clean malt base.
The flavor blended the sweet to the bitter, through the malts and hops crisping up the aftertaste nicely and hitting the finish quickly.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Good sturdy carbonation and the ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, nicely done amber ale coming across fairly smooth yet still allowing the hops to show some pizazz in the aroma.

The appearance was a soft muddy brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell off at a decent pace. Sliding lace.
The aroma had a sweet to roasty nuttiness up front with a robust edge of caramel and toffee malts. Subtle earthiness in the backbone.
The flavor leaned towards the sweet side and had a nicely paced freely flowing nutty crispness in the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Good carbonation and ABV felt fine.
Overall, pretty good nut brown ale leaning towards the English style of the wheelhouse. Would have again.

Draft at pub. I’m always leery of bourbon barrel and high ABV offerings from small or young breweries. But I couldn’t resist trying this because I’m a sucker for both. I wasn’t expecting much, but WOW! This beer is awesome. I liked it as much as more great old ales I like, like North Coast Old Stock and Founders Curmudgeon. The bourbon was subtle with no alcohol kick. Really smooth for the style.

Draft at the brewpub. Good, traditional American IPA. Enjoyed it with a meal.
