About
It started with two longtime friends, a cousin’s basket press, and a brother’s apple tree. In cliché terms, the rest is history. Tyler Butcher and Logan Barger have been friends since the days of Little League Baseball, and have grown up going to the same high school and rooming together during their college years. It was then that they got their first taste of cider. Years later they decided to give it a go at making hard cider themselves. Many batches later, their family and friends actually enjoyed drinking the cider they were making. Kekionga Craft Company was no longer just a thought, it was about to become a reality.

Kekionga Craft Company found its home in a historic apple mill located on the northeast side of Fort Wayne, IN in the fall of 2016 and opened its doors in June 2017. Since then they have went from just four taps in the tasting room to now fourteen and an ever expanding menu including wine, mead, and beer.

This cider has a pleasant apple aroma. The flavor is sweet, with apples obviously, and the different yeast gives it a bit different character that I’m struggling to describe. As is often the case, I could do with less sweetness. It’s decent though.

Well, it’s definitely sweet. There’s apples and some watermelon, but mostly it’s just sweet. It’s not bad. It’s just not my thing. Kekionga makes many less sweet ciders that I prefer, but I suppose something like this sells well.

Murky light brown pour. There’s definitely a peanut aroma with the apples. The flavor is sweet with peanut, caramel, and apple. This works. Very tasty.

This still cider has an apple and vaguely floral aroma. The flavor has light sweetness, apples, and underlying alcohol. Dry finish. Enjoyable.

This cider has an apple and peach aroma, of course. It’s sweet, a little sweeter than honeymoon baby though somehow the alcohol seems more present. Straightforward peach and apple taste. Fairly good.

Pours hazy yellow. Apple and pineapple aroma. It has a sweet flavor but not overly so, and the pineapple is obvious but not overwhelming. Apple cider is still there. Balanced. Pretty good.

Hazy pale gold color. It has a tart apple aroma. It's described as dry though to me it seems lightly sweet. There's also some crisp tartness. It's mellow and, as the description says, something of a white wine character to it. Easy drinking. Very good.

Pinkish-red pour. The aroma is led by the raspberries and of course the apples are apparent. The flavor is sweet with a tangy berry sourness complementing it. Medium bodied. It's a little sweeter than I'd prefer but it's refreshing and pretty good.

Pours hazy oraneg and has a pleasant, mild apple and cherry aroma. The flavor is led by the apples with underlying cherries. To me it's just mildly tart, but it works well added to a light sweetness. Very tasty.
