Description
It started with two longtime friends, a cousin’s basket press, and a brother’s apple tree. In cliché terms, the rest is history. Tyler Butcher and Logan Barger have been friends since the days of Little League Baseball, and have grown up going to the same high school and rooming together during their college years. It was then that they got their first taste of cider. Years later they decided to give it a go at making hard cider themselves. Many batches later, their family and friends actually enjoyed drinking the cider they were making. Kekionga Craft Company was no longer just a thought, it was about to become a reality.

Kekionga Craft Company found its home in a historic apple mill located on the northeast side of Fort Wayne, IN in the fall of 2016 and opened its doors in June 2017. Since then they have went from just four taps in the tasting room to now fourteen and an ever expanding menu including wine, mead, and beer.

Pours cloudy pale yellow-green. It smells of cloves and maybe some nutmeg over the apples. The flavor is very spicy with lots of cloves and suggestions of nutmeg and other fall spices.

This still cider has an aroma of tart apples and some alcohol. The flavor is dry with tart apples. It's alright though somehow the flavors don't come through quite as well as I'd like, and it's not just because it's dry.

This cider pours an orangish pink color. The aroma is of apples and lots of strawberries. It tastes sweet with a strawberry led flavor. It's not complicated, but doesn't need to be. This one's my favorite of the flight because hey, strawberries.

Pours pale green/yellow and smells of apples and jalapenos. The flavor is fairly spicy but doesn't overdo it. It's lightly sweet with a spicy finish. Some heat lingers on the palate. Interesting cider.

This cider has kind of a light orange color. It smells and tastes of apples and grapes. This is probably the sweetest cider I've had at Kekionga so far. It works fairly well.

This cider has a mild apple aroma and a sweet flavor. The passion fruit isn't very distinct to me but it adds a light tropical fruit flavor. Fairly good.

This cider smells of berries and apples as one might expect. It's definitely sweet but not fortunately not Woodchuck sweet. The berries and apples go together fairly well. Refreshing.

This cider has a mildly tart aroma of apples and a little bourbon. The flavor is dry and tart. The bourbon isn't strong but it's detectable. Decent overall.

As one would expect the aroma is of coffee and apples. The coffee is prominent in the flavor and adds some roast character. There's also sweet apples. Pretty tasty. Interesting.
