Description
It started with two longtime friends, a cousin’s basket press, and a brother’s apple tree. In cliché terms, the rest is history. Tyler Butcher and Logan Barger have been friends since the days of Little League Baseball, and have grown up going to the same high school and rooming together during their college years. It was then that they got their first taste of cider. Years later they decided to give it a go at making hard cider themselves. Many batches later, their family and friends actually enjoyed drinking the cider they were making. Kekionga Craft Company was no longer just a thought, it was about to become a reality.
Kekionga Craft Company found its home in a historic apple mill located on the northeast side of Fort Wayne, IN in the fall of 2016 and opened its doors in June 2017. Since then they have went from just four taps in the tasting room to now fourteen and an ever expanding menu including wine, mead, and beer.

Pale, hazy green-yellow pour. The aroma is of tart apples and peaches. The flavor is lightly sweet with the peaches and apples apparent. There's minimal oak character and mild tartness. It's pretty good though the whiskey barrel didn't come through much.

Hazy pale yellow-green pour. It has a tart apple aroma. The flavor is lightly sweet with a tangy apple flavor. I didn't find the hops all that noticeable. There's maybe a touch of bitterness in the finish. It's an enjoyable cider though.

Cloudy pale yellow-green pour. It smells of apple and citrus. Mostly apples. The flavor is fairly sweet but not too much so. The mandarin is quite apparent and works well with the apples. The pineapple is more subtle. It's a tasty cider.

Lightly hazy pale yellow-green pour. It has a ripe apple aroma. The flavor is sweet but not hugely so. It's not nearly as sweet as most of the big name ciders made by Woodchuck, Angry Orchard, etc. There's some acidic tang and some tartness, especially in the finish. Good cider.

Pours a pale lightly hazy yellow-green. It has a ripe apple aroma. The flavor is definitely dry, very dry for a cider. Low acidity. It's got a certain smoothness though and even seems slightly sweet to me though I confirmed it's zero residual sugar so that's just a perception. Tasty. Bone dry finish. Nicely done.

tap at the cidery - Hazy pour. There's a mild apple aroma. The apple rich flavor is sweet but not sickly so. It's lightly carbonated and easy drinking, a straightforward apple cider that's pretty good.

tap at the cidery - Hazy pour. This one mainly smells like cinnamon. The flavor is of cinnamon, applesauce, and pumpkin in that order. It's sweet but with a certain sourness to it. This is a still cider or so close to one that I couldn't detect carbonation. I think there's probably too much cinnamon relative to the other flavors. It's drinkable but didn't really work for me.

tap at the cidery - Hazy pour with a mild apple aroma. The flavor is sweetish with a definite tart character. Lightly carbonated. It's good until the finish, where I get a mild off taste, sort of bitter, that doesn't seem quite right. Decent.

tap at the cidery - Pours hazy pale yellow. There's a mild apple aroma. The flavor is lightly sweet with a pleasant, crisp apple taste. It's lightly carbonated and a bit warming in the finish. Well done. This one was my favorite from the flight.
