Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks Dror. Clear deep golden. Aroma of piney, citric and resinous notes and some malt. Sweet malty flavor, a bit sugary, with some fruitiness and a moderately bitter hoppy finish. Medium-bodied. Too sweet, but kinda OK.

Half, tap at Bishop Arms, Copenhagen. Clear, nut brown body. Shiny surface. Fragile glass-lacing. Sweet aroma of brown malts. Sweet malty taste with a touch of star anise leading to mid-sweet and spicy ending. Soft in the mouth. Medium bodied. On the sweet side, however, one small glass there and then was quite alright (Copenhagen, 06. 11.2011).

50 cl. bottle from a supermarket. Deep, dark amber colour with a nice tanned head that leaves some nice lacing. Aroma is a bit of mustiness, licorice, and oats. Taste is medium sweet, malty with a hint of oats, finishes with licorice. Weak notes of spices, the stinging nettle, maybe? The stinging nettle is a fun idea in a decent beer.

Properly stored in my beer cellar after I bought the 500ml bottle at The Fine Food Store, Kastrup Airport in March ’10. Fawn-coloured head, reduced to a permanent layer, covering a mahogany coloured body. Rings of lace to the glassware. Mixture of dark malts to the nose with hints of dark fruits. Taste of chocolate malts supported by nuts, raisin and star anise. Rounded and dry in the mouth. More sweet than bitter ending. Nice (Tromsø, 15.10.2011).
