Taster at the Carter Payne. Pours dark brown, nearly black, with a foamy, khaki head. The aroma is dark chocolate, cherry, walnut, maple, and espresso. Lots of whiskey, and a funky, woody note. Sweet and boozy, with a mild, musty bitterness. Heavy, syrupy, and a bit astringent. Quality, complex, and unique.

Taster at the Carter Payne. Pours a clear, brown color, with a small, beige ring. The nose is chicory, bitter pecan, cedar, musty hay, and cinnamon. Sweet and malty, with a mellow, earthy bitterness. Medium body, chalky, and clean. Fun and thoroughly interesting beer.

Draft at the Carter Payne. Pours a bright, hazy, yellow color, with a big, frothy, white head. The aroma is lemon verbena, butterscotch, grapefruit peel, light earth, and lavender. Sweet and citrusy, with a mild bitterness. Light body, creamy, and a bit sharp. Interesting and delicious.
