Half pour at the brewpub. Pours black, with a ruby tinge, with a fair, fine, beige head. The aroma is mild coffee, spruce, caraway, and dates. Sweet and malty, with a mild, roasty bitterness. Light to medium body, chalky, and clean. Solid and clean.

Half pour at the brewpub. Pours a clear, straw color, with a big, foamy, white head. The nose is orange peel, nectarine, straw, and nutmeg. Sweet and malty, with a pleasant, resinous bitterness. Medium body, syrupy, and a bit crisp. Easy and enjoyable.
