This is Bohemia Regent’s Easter lager, bottle, bought at Pivovarsky Klub Prague. Clear golden yellow, big white head. Medium-bodied lager with pleasant Saaz hops flavours and a good malty background.

Draught at Soldaten Svejk, Stockholm. (Served during a mini-festival for unpasteurized Czech beers.) Hazy golden, dense creamy head. Hay is dominant up front, some orange is present. Lies soft in the mouth with some malt sweetness, butter, salt and hay. Grassy hops dry it out and gives a balanced bitter finish.

(Draught at Soldaten Svejk, Stockholm, 26 Sep 2007) Golden yellow colour with frothy white head. Malty nose with grassy hops and notes of toffee. Malty taste with toffee, balanced malt sweetness and lots of grassy hops in the finish. A bit thin. Decent and reliable czech pilsner, but not one of the most adventurous.

Bottle. Clear, golden pour with a small, off-white head. A little cellarish, mouldish note in the aroma, but the bottle was a bit past BB-date, maybe that’s the reason. There’s also a good fruitiness, with apples and pears, and some hops, but I could wish for more of it. There’s cellar in the flavor as well, fruityness and a nice hoppiness. Medium body and a quite bitter finish. If I forget about the cellar-like aromas and flavors, it is a quite nice beer, but I want more hops in the aroma. A pilsner I could easily drink more of. Bottle. Clear, deep chestnut color with a nice, but short-lived beige head. The beer tried it’s best to get out of the bottle on it’s own. Dried fruits and a little roastiness in the aroma. The flavor has dried fruits, sweetness, a little roast and some hops. Medium to full body, roasted finish. The beer was two months bast BB-date, giving it a little cellarish note, but I ignored it in the rating. A really nice, dark czech. (070528)

Bottle. Clear, golden beer with a nice, white head. Mostly fruity nose with hops, malt and a little cellarish note, probably due to it’s two months past BB-date. Quite balanced flavor, with some alcohol and grass. There’s the little cellar-note here as well, but I have ignored that in my rating. Medium body and a grassy and hoppy finish. A nice pilsner.
