Opaque petroleum black with a perfect tan head. Roasted barley, ground coffee, dark chocolate, a solid bunch of New World hop, cookies, distant unexpected phenolics (may have been an illusion). Quite dry. Medium plus bitter. Not quite my taste but, if impartially, good.
