Description
The family farm in Bellaghy, County Derry, that was previously home to the late poet Seamus Heaney and inspired him endlessly, is now also home to an on-site microbrewery. Heaney Brewery was set up by Malcolm McCay and his wife Suzanne, who is a niece of Seamus, in early 2019.

Heaney initially launched four beers on the market in 2016 using facilities at Boundary Brewing.

Heller, minimal säuerlicher Getreideantrunk. Weich, süffig, geringe Bitterkeit. Mild, die Intensität nimmt noch ab. Okay. 10/8/9/8/9/8

EU local swap. Kräutrig hopfiger Beginn mit steigender Herbe. Auch die Hopfigkeit steigt zum Mittelteil an, die Kräuternoten verwässern mit der Zeit. Primär herber Nachhall, dunkel hopfig, spritzig. Nett. 10/9/10/9/11/10

EU local swap. Wenig karbonisierter, leicht röstiger Antrunk. Zunehmend malzig, dabei zu gleichermaßen hopfig und malzig. Weich, geringe Süße. Gelungen. 10/8/8/9/9/9

Bottle shared by Beersiveknown @ tasting at his place. Huge thanks Steve! Clear dark orange color, small off-white head. Smell and taste malts, sweetness, yeast. Meh. Not an IPA by a long shot imo. Bit fizzy carbonation as well.

Bottle shared by Beersiveknown @ tasting at his place. Huge thanks Steve! Dark brown to black color, average sized light brown head. Aroma is malts, dark malts, a slight distant hint of smoke. Taste malts, dark malts, moderately bitter. Decent body and carbonation. Not bad.
