1668 Gründung der Brauerei durch Balthasar Hörmann. Seit 1899 ist die Brauerei im besitz der Familie Widenmayer

Die Engelbräu wird vom heutigen Besitzer, Felix Widenmayer bereits in der vierten Generation der Familie Widenmayer mit Erfolg geführt. Persönliches Engagement und das solide Handwerk prägen unseren Stil. Denn es gibt Werte die haben immer Bestand: Qualität und Tradition.

Bottle 500ml.Clear medium orange yellow color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, toasted, sweet malt. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, sweet malt, dry. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110312]

Bottle. Frothy white fait mostly deminishing head. yellow colour. Light malty and hoppy aroma. Light bitter flavor. Short light bitter finish. Watery palate.

Bottle. Clear deep golden with small white head. Flavour is malt, caramel, fruit, hops, sweet and bitter.

Bottle courtesy fonefan. Medium head with medium duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are malt and hops.

Bottle looks very good. Beer in the glass dark brown, nice head. Starts strong, malty-sweet, nice light alcoholic touch. All in all very balanced. Nice hints of caramel and chocolate. Warming finish. Very nice doppelbock!

Bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also, zippy, nice head. Starts strong, hoppy-dry, also quite metallically and soapy. Finish not so well balanced, still hoppy dry. Should be more spicy. Only average!

(Bottle at One Pint Pub Augustfest ’10) Poured brown and clear. Head was medium sized and white. Aroma contained malts and cramell. Palate was medium bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, sweetness, mild roastedness and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter.

Bottle. Red chestnut, off-white layer. Light fischsauce, roasted malt. Medium body, sparkly mouthfeel. Light chocolate, roasted almond, aromatic german hops in the quick finish. Quite light on the palate afterwards.

Bottle @ Fastelavnssmagning, Ulfborg. Pours clear yellow with a small off white head and lacings. Straw and grassy notes with some hints of buiscuit. Very dry. Medium bodied.

Bottle: Relatively clear, big persistent off-white - beaten egg-white-like - head; caramelly-wheaty nose with a light fruity acidity; light to moderate sweet-sourish flavour, very light bodied for a beer of 5.5%, but soft; light caramelly-sourish finish with a delicate wheaty touch.Average Dunkelweizen......
