Description
Horus Aged Ales is a 100% barrel aged brewery located in Oceanside, California. We believe in pushing the boundaries on how much beer can evolve through resting in oak by using a variety of different wine and spirit barrels, adding exotic fruits, and fermenting spontaneously. The complexity of the beer portrays our passion for experimentation and patience required to produce such a unique beverage. Horus has been a decade long dream that is finally coming true and we look forward to introducing our exclusive beer to the fine people of San Diego County.

Thick, boozy, a bit sweet. Bourbon, might have even guessed rye, rich, dry, balanced. Not quite what I expected but very smooth and tasty.

Bottle pours out thick black topped with a small brown head. Nose is big rich malts heavy heavy bourbon barrel hit. Taste is more of the nice sweet chocolate roast malts and that great Pappy Bourbon barrel.

Rated at Platinum Beer Lounge - Viikki Branch HQ. Smooth and roasty with loads of coconut, some barrel, vanilla, syrup, cocoa and toffee. Intense with coconut notes, but still loads of heat from barrel. Pretty tasty and surprisingly balanced.

Pours a black body. Aroma's: roasty, coffee, along with some fruity (or coffee) sourness and sweetness retronasal. Flavour is above moderate sweet, with coffee roast. Fairly full bodied. Long finish with roast, bitter chocolate, coffee. Based on previous Horus beers, this was much better (i.e. less sweet) than expected.
