Description
Horus Aged Ales is a 100% barrel aged brewery located in Oceanside, California. We believe in pushing the boundaries on how much beer can evolve through resting in oak by using a variety of different wine and spirit barrels, adding exotic fruits, and fermenting spontaneously. The complexity of the beer portrays our passion for experimentation and patience required to produce such a unique beverage. Horus has been a decade long dream that is finally coming true and we look forward to introducing our exclusive beer to the fine people of San Diego County.

Hazelnut in spades, coffee, vanilla, boozy, some barrel. Very tasty sitting outback listening to some classical music.

Spurs lost this morning, Eagles and Sixers won, now we’ll see what the Flyers do.

Pours black, , small tanned head fades instantly. Scent is liquid happyness - hazelnut is quite strong indeed. Roasty, mild vanilla. Chocolaty backbone. Taste is surprisingly sharp, toasted hazelnut, chocolate, mild coffee. Hidden on the vanilla. Tad roasty malts backbone . not as creamy as hoped / expected, but indeed still more than enjoyable. Roasty hazelnut in the finish.

Pours black, no head. Way more coconut scent than the pacific purpoise. Bit sweet, soapy-ish. Taste is intense, medium bitter, very sweet, candy like back. Less ashy, more chocolate juicy, Dark malts. intense coconut. Chocolaty finish. Bit syrupy, almost like a spirit in it's fine-ness , but not at all boozy.

Pours black, no head. Scent is ashy, burnt malts, coocnut background. Taste is full, roasty, chocolate, intense on the coconut, but not as 'soapy' as usual. Bit bitter, medium sweetness. Medium thick to thick body. Bit to one-sided on the coconut to me, but as far as straight up coconut stouts go, this one is supberb.

Really good performance by Spurs at The Theatre of Dreams today. Runaway winners 3-0, could’ve been five or six. Now onto the Madrid derby.

This is lovely. Banana pancakes, with cinnamon, maple syrup, tad boozy. #stoutsunday

Eagles stink. 🦅

12 oz. bottle, pours jet black like motor oil with huge chunks I had to filter out, with a small brown head. Nose is ridiculously intense, with big bourbon barrels, vanilla beans and a little cocoa. Flavour is hugely rich, with tons of decadent bourbon barrels, cocoa, and vanilla beans. Ridiculously rich, thick, almost sludgy palate. Complex indeed but maybe borderline brutal.

Bottle. Pours black with minimal head. Aroma is cocoa, bourbon, tons of vanilla, attenuated. Flavor is medium sweet, light bitter. Really watery mouthfeel. Attenuated and underwhelming. Wondering if this underwent some unplanned secondary fermentation the bottle, but it certainly wasn't super carbonated. In any case, not a great effort.
