Description
In 1901 started Josef and Maria Reh started with a small brewhouse. In 1929 it became necessary to build a new, larger brewery. In 1966-67 the brewery was completely rebuilt, everything was out of date and the technology of brewing had changed. Nowadays is the Reh brewery a modern medium-sized brewery, which is well prepared for the future by constant innovations.

Das Bier schmeckt malzig mild und absolut wässrig. Da stellt sich mir die Frage, ob es doch ein Gold-Bier ist? Der Nachgeschmack lässt leicht an Kaffee erinnern - dieses Bier ist nicht gelungen. Test vom 16.11.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,5,5,9,8,7 - 6,85

Bottle (Vroni’s Bamberg): Clear golden, mid-sized lacing white head; floral hops in the aroma, also traces of cookies and honey;initial maltiness, quickly giving way to a pronounced hoppy-bitter taste, followed by a long, aromatic and spicy "english" finish; well balanced, the initial maltiness gives a fine contast to the strong hoppiness; well quaffable and moreish !

Clear, but dark-amber beer, with orange highlights; smaller off-white head, fast gone. Earthy & leafy notes, dark malts; "Loden" (felt) aroma, bit meaty even. Expressly dark malts taste, chocolate, even roasted coffee; bitterish finish with a good hops component. Jez says toffee, but only the roasted, bitter flavour half, not the sweet-sugary. Very unexpectedly thin, nearly watery palate, as if all the above is just flavour dissolved in water (great! - that’s the definition of beer). I would have expected more palate from such a beer, certainly at 5.5% ABV. Palate is seriously lacking, and therefore unbalances the whole.

Bottle. Sweet banana, apple and clove aroma. Light yellow tan color - cloudy with medium head. Slightly sweet banana and sour malt flavor - on the watery side. A less sweet Weizen - not bad but wish it had a stronger flavor.

Bottle. Chocolate malt aroma. Medium amber color with small head. Balanced sweetness and bitter chocolate malt flavor. Medium body. An interesting mixture of a dunkel and a landbier.

Test vom 15.4.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,9,5,4,13,6 - 6,95

Clear yellow color, short white head. Aroma of alcohol, some malt, bit floral. Bit sour and metallic taste. Quite like an oktoberfest beer, a style which i usually don’t like, and this time i also did not like it.

Grain and a weird fatty aroma. Pale golden, almost no head. Good balance in the flavors. Lightish body, light bitterhop exit.

Aromatic hop and malt aroma. Brown amber, low but creamy head. Not much substance - very restrained malt flavor, a bit roast and chocolate, herbal finish . Watery body - bready and herbal aftertaste.
