19/02 0.5 l can Doggythedog brought from Graz, thanks for sharing! It poured murky golden to orange body with bigger head. Some weaker estery aroma like orange. Also a bit salty. Flavor was disappointing, some wheat characteristics, but very thin bodied, so much it’s almost tasteless. Some banana shows up in its watery and little bit sweet finish. Tasteless beer, one of the worst Hefeweizens I had. No, it’s not subtle, it’s bland.

Canned, 4.8%, brewed under the licence of Schladminger in a Brau Union brewery. Purchased somewhere in/near Graz, shared with heavy. Murky darker ochre colour, huge thick white head that went away at a medium pace. Chewed up bubblegum in the nose, some cloves. The taste is soft, bubblegum again, sweetish and pleasant but nothing special. Light whipped cream. Very light banana, a bit dryish. A run of the mill weizen.

Bottle, 5.1%. Good malty aroma, slight sweet dustiness. Clear golden colour, unstable white head. The flavour is nicely malty with medium bitterness to balance. Good mouthfeel. Well-balanced.

Bottle, 5.2%. Citric, lagery aroma. Clear golden colour. Stable white head. The flavour is mildly malty with some sewery notes. Slightly rough hoppiness in the finish. A mediocre pale lager.

Bottle in Vienna, 2006. Slightly darkish golden color. Good, fine head. Very malty aroma, a touch sweet, with cookies. Good hop flavor, with fine malt as well. Very evenly balanced, though good hops. Slight cardboard taste. Finish is hoppy. Good balance and nice taste. Not very special or interesting, but a good drinking beer.

0.5 l bottle from a Merkur in Graz. Pored golden body with medium head going down at medium pace. Very weak malty aroma. Flavor is bitterish at first, then sweetish malty. Not thin bodied, but very ordinary and rustical. Medium long finish which is also sweetish, as of the malt. Boring and very one dimensional, limited, although drinkable. Again of those that didn’t nearly fill out my expectations.

06/01 0.5 l bottle from a Merkur in Graz. Poured pale yellow body with smaller white head. Not really strong aroma of some flowery malts, with somewhat sourish touch. Flavor sourish probably from the hops and sweetish malty, let’s say pleasant but very light bodied. Finish is short, reflecting the sweetness of the flavor. Not so bad but far too light.

0.5l courtesy of and shared with heavy who brought it from Austria (thanks!) Poured a pale yellow-golden colour, small creamy white head that went away fast, lazy carbonation. The nose turned out to be quite weak, just some weak and unimpressive notes of malt and honey showed themselves. The taste isn’t any stronger... some weak weak sweet maltiness, which was supposed to be balanced by some herbal hopiness near the end, which turned out to be flat and unimpressive, if quite noticable and somewhat lasting... the two tastes don’t complement each other all that well. Just a touch eggy. Ok I guess, but bland. Shame.

0.5l bottle courtesy of a friend who brought it from Schladming (thanks !) Poured a big fluffy, thick white head that went away at a medium pace. The body is more yellow than golden... maybe very pale gold. The nose is hoppy, oily, and somewhat herbal, with some sweet malty hints. The taste is nice and smooth. Fine malty background, smooth, fruity maltiness, weak but chewy hops. The flavours complement each other nicely. Hmm...maaaybe corn, but probably not. A bit dry. Not that bad. Not one of the best lagers I’ve had, but it’s still a nice and pleasant beer.
