On Tap at the brewery/taproom Black with a thin tan ring. Lots of dark roast and some subtle spice and notes of dark pitted fruit. The claimed fig componant is subtle. Nice twist on the black ale.

On tap and the brewery/taproom in Ventura rather light yellow pour with a small quick white head. Terrific fresh upfront citrus and orange hop aromas and flavors. Light bodied and very fresh tasting. Very good

On Tap at the brewery/taproom Foggy light orange pour with a white head. Big on both, the fresh bitter pithy hops and strong Belgian yeast character. Strange combo but balanced and bold on both sides. Good.

Crowler provided by the owner for our input - thanks! Pours hazy golden orange, small beige head, dissipates slowly with decent lacing. Aroma is pretty standard belgian strong -- yeast spices, clove, field grass, some pepper, orange zest, candi sugars. Flavor is light bitter, medium sweet. Medium body overall. This is a pretty standard Belgian strong. No obvious flaws, nothing to make it stand out from the crowd.
