Description
Founded in 2012, we’re a craft microbrewery located in a historic 100-year-old bakery called The Bread Box on West 6th Street in Lexington, Kentucky. We brew and can our beer out of that location, and it’s sold at bars, restaurants, grocery stores, and liquor stores throughout the state of Kentucky (and across the river in Cincinnati, OH). We pride ourselves on the beers that we make and the impact we have on the communities we’re a part of.

We focus our brewing talents on a wide variety of beers – we produce and can styles ranging from our flagship West Sixth IPA, to our Pay it Forward Cocoa Porter. In our taprooms in downtown Lexington, we have 15-20 West Sixth varieties on tap, along with occasional special bottle releases from our Sixfold and Barrel-aged series. Now a team of more than 40, we focus on brewing beers with quality and creativity that we’re proud to serve to our friends, and most importantly, that we like to drink!

That said, we measure our success as a company not just on the beer that we make, but also on our social impact in the communities we’re a part of. We support the direct work of nonprofits in our area through programs like our Pay it Forward program and 6th for a Cause. We are environmentally conscious in everything we do (did you know nationwide, 70% of aluminum is recycled and only 20% of glass is?). And finally, we strive to be an awesome place to work, offering discounted CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) benefits, private staff yoga classes, and employee ownership.

12oz canned 11/14/23, from DrFabulous, drunk 1/10/24, thank you! Lightly-to-moderately hazy, bright peach-orange-maize. Small, off-white head to spotty cover. Really nice mix of floral, tropical and lightly spicy hops with some comforting orange-mango juiciness in there, as well. Clean and with honey-like malts easily balancing. Soft, malty, pretty good attenuation. Lots of peach, melon, orange, mango and very light floral notes. Good bitterness levels - not too little of it. My favorite part is that it doesn't drink like a 9% sugar or alcohol bomb but there's still tons of malt and hop character. Lots of lingering peach, melon, pineapple, mango and orange. Tons of malty goodness.

Can from the Kay-Rogeh, drunk on the farm in Kentucky. Clear gold, big head, lightly dank-pine citrusy nose. Pretty nice balance, caramel heaviness countered by big bitterness that's relatively smooth. Grapefruit on the back end, tingling bitterness, yowza!

Canned 11/3/23, drunk 12/18/23, thanks to DrFabulous! Clear, bright golden-brass. Large, off-white head slowly fades to a ring. Nose is gentle pine, grapefruit, hints of floral and winter spices. Snappy malts with no heavy specialty malt or big cracker. Honey, white bread, biscuit...No resin, no booze. Very clean. Clean and fruity with pine and no resin. Lots of citrus and other various yellow fruits. Malty and well-attenuated. Really nice execution and low, but ample bitterness. At 7.5% I could see wanting a bit more hop intensity all around (flavors and aromas), but otherwise this is really nicely balanced and drinkable.
