Description
The beer is named after the Slavic god Radegast. This, the most popular brand of beer in Moravia and characterised by its bitterness, is brewed in the Nošovice brewery from the highest quality brewing ingredients from Moravia. It was first brewed in 1970. The brand has a strong and loyal following in Moravia and Silesia, but is also popular with beer lovers all over the Czech Republic.

Since 1999 the brewery is owned by Pilsner Urquell, which is, in turn, owned by Asahi Breweries.

Getrunken das erste Mal vor ca 4 Jahren als es noch Radegast Originál Výčepní Světlé hieß und jetzt wieder vor mir im Glas. Das ist wieder ein Zehngrädiges, das es nicht schafft, seinen billigen Schankbier-Charakter zu verbergen. Es hat einen bitteren Beigeschmack, der aber nicht von aromatischen Hopfen, sondern einfachen Hopfenextrakt kommt. Dadurch taugt es bedingt zum sommerlichen Durstlöscher und verliert irgendwie seine Berechtigung zum Sein. Schade, aber mir hat es nicht gefallen.

Golden color with medium white head. Grainy, bitter hops in aroma. Taste, strongly bitter, with malty hints. Bitter finish. Drinkable beer.

Eigentlich war dies ein gutes Bier mit feiner Würze, aber das "Radegast Ryze Hořká 12" entschädigt auf voller Länge.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks Dror. Clear golden with a white head. Grainy wort aroma. Sweetish flavor with grainy cereals and a drier finish. Light-bodied. Not too offensive.
