Draft pour at Special Brews. Pours a thick, cloudy pale golden color with an oily head. Lots of hop variety. Huge grapefruit aroma from a distance away. Fresh citrus fruit forward flavor, with a long, drawn out hop bitterness to follow. Cool, dry and bitter finish. A ton of good things going on with this one. Good addition to what is already my favorite lineup of IPA’s.

Draught at the brewery; 9.6% ABV
Cloudy golden color, dull, with no head. The aroma is fruity, a bit animal, and malty too. Moderately sweet, the mouthfeel is a bit oily, at least they used blond malts for the base, with a touch of toffee; the hops are resiny and fruity, a lot of orange peel.
Nice, but slightly cloying.

Blond color. The aroma is very dank and fruity, a bit sweaty. Dry mouthfeel, nice toffeeish malt flavor, and powerful resiny hopping.
Nice.

Cloudy dull blond color. Nice fruity aroma. Toffee malt flavor, off-dry, strong bitterness; the hop is very resiny, a bit piney; nice IPA, a bit heavy on the yeast though, dirty.

Black color. Aroma of dark chocolate. Dry mouthfeel, roasty, not much chocolatey, maybe a bit salty, but not mineral or iodine. I wouldn’t think of oysters if I didn’t know.

Draft 10 oz pour at Cloudburst. Cloudy tang color pour wit a blanket foam head. Peaches are like gold for these guys so I have high expectations for this one. Soft floral aroma. Flavor is grains and floral up front, with a late peach inclusion. Like a peach oatmeal like reminder. Has a serious Belgian feel here, more so in my opinion than the other batches. I enjoy this series. It keeps a good break up between delicious IPAs. Good variety. Good beer.

Draft pour at Cloudburst, pregaming for SIB. Gotta take care of number one first! Lighter golden color pour with a lasting fizz head. Listed at 5%, 15 IBU. I didn’t expect to be thrilled with this one, but these guys seem to make everything above average to say the least. Floral sturdy aroma with a honey sweetness. Slightly herbal, big floral. Honey tea late linger. I’m sad it took me this long to figure out the name inspiration. Just needed the commas I guess. But who cares about that. Very nice beer here.

Draft pour pint at Beer Junction. 3 Cloudburst beers in a row outside the brewery. I feel like I need to check in there and make sure it’s still there. Clear goldeb, active carb pour with tons of cream foam head. Bitter expectant hop aroma. Flavor is the same, super creamy body, citrus fruit, and a slight metallic. Just barely. Pretty good overall. It’s unfair that I naturally compare this to all of their other IPA’s and the competition is really tough.

Draft pour pint, as a celebration of Beer Junction’s 6th anniversary, as well as good beer in general. This beer marks my 1000th WA brewed rate, and I couldn’t think of a better brewery to clear with, other than my favorite local brewery, doing a celebration themed beer. Thick, cloudy orange pour with an unlimited supply of foam. Dominant pine leaning hop aroma. Creamy body, cool flavor with piney hops, and a solid citrus bitter remainder. Fruit seems to be more obvious with every sip. I love these guys. They seem to release about 10 beers a month on average, and never seem to miss. Very nicely done.

Draft pour pint at Flatstick Pub. Judging by the name, I have to assume this is brewed exclusively. Damn these guys brew a lot of beer. Considering Flatstick is selling growlers of these Cloudburst beers, I was lucky to get a chance to try it, a day after it was tapped. Thanks to Tcon for tipping the existence of this beer. Keeping up with Cloudburst is a full time job, and I need a hand sometimes. Cloudy orange pour. It’s like when these guys add fruit in the brewing process, they are adding pure gold. So we’ll executed every time. Fresh oranges aroma. Flavor is juicy orange’s with a solid citrus hop profile. Delicious, crushable pale, that I will be ordering another of most likely. Most of my CB beers are enjoyed at the brewery itself. It’s a weird, and kinda fun experience to try in a new location where everyone ordering a beer asks where the hell Cloudburst is from. Household name one day.
