On tap at Noble. Pours with a black hued body and a tan head. Aromas are roasty, nutty, estery with some warming alcohol, and delicate fruit esters. Flavors are toasty, nutty, tobacco, rye bready, earthy and roasty. Fruit character is mild but nicely rounded. Decently hidden alcohol warmth. Medium carbonation, slightly fuller bodied. The nutty and roasty character is a touch too intense for my tastes in stronger belgian beers.

Cascading nitro pour at the brewery. Creamy off-white head over a hazy golden body. Aroma is of very strong and intense coffee with mild fudge and fruit notes, toasted malt, bready. Mostly coffee. Flavors are a bit more bitter and quite a bit drier than something like Naughty Sauce, but there is still an intense coffee nose, with some base breadiness of English 101. Stupidly easy to drink. Creamy yet not too full bodied. Very tasty!

On tap at Taps, Brea. A clear, brown beer with a small off-white head. Peach, caramel, bread hints and some piney hints in the aroma. Decent bitterness in the flavor, bread, caramel and peaches. Medium body. Finishes as it starts. A decent beer, but a bit boring. 130812

Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours translucent amber with a slight white head. Strong citrus, nee cat pee, aroma. Med body. Flavor is very, very citrus, with something else that’s very fresh hop, and the caramel backbone is very, very back. This is arguably a hop monster. Finishing quite hoppy and bitter. Excellent.
