My first beer from this sketchy company, who became infamous for making fake Japanese whisky. Now they make beer, and from the descriptions, it seems they are caught in the 1990s, but I had to try one. This is an amber beer, pale ale or possibly amber ale. Pretty deep amber-orange with a tall, fine head. Nose is caramel malt, some apple and cherry, dark bread. Not bad, just very old school and simple. Flavor is simple, lots of sweet caramel and toffee, and a somewhat too bitter finish. There is some green apple, some pine, and some citrus. Not terrible, but very much like a "decent" Japanese craft beer from the 1990s. And they just started this year.
