Another sour from Free Will, with white cranberries. Thin, off-white head, hazy golden robe with somewhat pinkish hue. Strong aroma of a lot of unripe gooseberry (but probably a combination of esters with those cranberries), yoghurt, white raspberries, funky stale sweat and fermenting hay, lemon. Estery onset, very crisp and acidic, lemony and drying, deeper lactic sourness, wheaty breadiness underneath, very fruity and dryingly tart finish. Opulent, rich and crisp sour ale, completely to the point.

Sour ale with cherries from a Pennsylvanian craft brewery. Moussy, stable, off-pinkish head, hazy cherry vermillion red robe. Aroma of a ton of pure sour cherries, blue plum, sour cream, lemon, marzipan, yoghurt, some wood. Rich fruity taste filling the mouth with a truckload of sour stonefruit, sour cherries indeed but I get something plum-like as well in the form of a subtle sweetness giving some counterbalance against an otherwise strongly drying, almost puckering tartness, further dried in the end due to woodiness. I dig this as the young sample I tasted, but surely this has a lot of aging potential like any wood-aged sour as well.

Hazy and quite pale. Thick head. The aroma is complex apple, pear, papaya. On the palate, soft and a touch yeasty, some plasticy sweetness. Seems like it is aiming for that sweet pale malt thing but the yeast isn’t holding up. Lots of bitterness but really kinda messy.

@ Strangelove. Hazy dark straw. No real head. Aroma is a bit messy. Dull yeasty stuff, autolysis, harsh bitterness imparted by the pepper but the fermentation is getting away from them here, too. Has some harsh phenols late and again that peppery note doe
