Scary muddy looking brown yellow. Typical sweet cloying aroma of domestic rude barley wine. No co2 to speak of. Sweet and cloying on the palate as well. Does not seem to be as strong as most domestic barley wines nor as rude but make no mistake, this is not a refined barley wine form the old country. Lacks manners as with most american barley wines. Alky content makes me dizzy near the end of my glass. I think, even with years of aging this stuff still will not be civil. Rude style when brewed in america.

Draft at Rattle n Hum - West, 2/19/16. Golden-orange. Clean tart / sour aroma and flavor. Bit of oak, some fruit, and vinegar notes. Finishes similar, with the oak and the vinegar sliding through on the close. Pretty good.

Crisp, clear golden coloured body with a very thin, fast-dying white head and a touch of haze. Aroma of fresh herbal and very resinous hops with a good malt backbone and some sappy and piney finishes - a lot of hops in the nose, all in a very good way. Medium-bodied; Strong grassy, herbal and very resinous at first with a good tropical fruit finish, showing a nice and subtle amount of malt - very nice throughout. Aftertaste shows more hops than anything else - this is a nice west coast styled IPA from here on the East Coast, and you’d really never know - this is perhaps the first one I’ve had like that, and of course, I like it. Aftertaste is well rounded with the malt and hop well balanced, but he grassy, herbal and especially resinous hop notes dominate in a great way. Overall, a very nice IPA with a great flavour, superb profile and nice easy going complexity. Definitely worth grabbing if you can find this at all, and worth searching out for, especially if you like the style. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 22-December-2015 for US$1.61 sampled at home in Washington on 29-January-2016.

Draft at RnH West. Woody sour with some fruity notes underneath. Pinkish color, beige head and nice lacework. Fairly sour flavor profile overall, with a fruitiness that I wouldn't have known to be pomegranate, but that's fine. Nice beer.
