Description
Who are Satyr Brews? It is Nikiforos and Paraskevas who decided to make beers with the method of nomadic brewing, known outside as gypsy brewing.
Dear fan, ex-customer, or rival, you just discovered the Satyr Brews website. Satyr was Greece’s first craft contract brewing brand. It was founded around the end of 2015, and released its first beer in April 2016. So ahead of its time, that it immediately settled on the nr.1 position of Greece’s beers on Ratebeer. We got the “best new brewer in Greece” award too!
During the following five years we brewed ten recipes, did the first collabs on Greek soil, we worked together with rock bands, brewed with then-unconventional ingredients, brewed abroad, participated in festivals, released anniversary beers for bars, designers and popular websites, had various popular websites write articles about us. We even set up a Soundcloud account, where various DJs uploaded a mix for each of our beers, a soundtrack fitting to their unique character, thus offering you a full consumption experience.
In September 2020, after the coronavirus offered us a chance for introspection, we decided that Satyr had completed itsmission, having contributed more than a bit to the creation of a vibrant local craft beer scene fully in touch and in conversation with the global trends. We brewed one last goodbye recipe, wrote down a retrospective blog post, and moved on!

bottle from the fridge at RIDE, chania hazy orange, small offwhite head. strong hoppy and malty rom focused onexotic fruits and more bitter hops like pine and grapefruit. the malts are strong and a little sweet, but mostly just malty strong, almost bready. flavor is malts, cereral sweetness and bitterness, juciy exotic fruity hoppy notes, bitterness is not that aggressive, so ends still juicy and fruity. palate is very soft.

18/4/2019. Bottle from Barley Cargo, Athens. Pours slightly hazy golden with an amber tint and an average sized creamy just off white head. Aroma of hops, citrus, resin, tangerine, mango, pineapple and a little fruit biscuit. Light sweetness, medium plus bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Great example of a modern IPA.

330ml bottle. Cloudy, orangey, bright golden colour with average, frothy to creamy, slowoly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, white head. Citrusy and slightly tropical fruity, hoppy aroma, notes of mango and mandarine, hints of passion fruit, orange and grapefruit, a lemon dash, resinous, piney basic layer, caramel malty background. Taste is crisp, bitter hoppy, slightly piney and citrusy, minimally tropical fruity and chalky, minimally diluted hints of mango, mandarine, orange, some pine, raisin, slightly weak caramel malty basis. Excellent nose, exhibits a Session IPA-like weakness concerning taste.

Keg at the Lazy Bulldog, Athens, 09/02/19. Hazed golden orange with a handsome off white cap that retains well. Nose is orange pith, pine resin, cantaloupe melon, tropical fruit medley, light weed, grass, hint of dankness. Taste comprises pine resin, orange pith, grapefruit zest, mango pulp, grassy bite, light Um Bongo. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying splashed with juicy come danko hop bitterness. Top draw IPA ... had this again the following day in Tales of Ales and also raked as 4.0. Great balance and hop interplay.
