Another nice light farmhouse beer from these guys. O Cloudy orange with OK head and lacing. Some cider sour apple aroma with a light dose of hay. Finishes with light sourness and a little grainy bitterness. Soft carbonation. Nice texture. Tap at brewpub.

32oz growler from the brewpub. Pours a fairly dark amber with some lightly lacing white head. Nose is quite soapy, proofing dough, yeast, fairly gristy, orange, light candy, hints of clove, almond liqueur. Flavor is nice, sticky dough, more fruit than the nose lets on, apple, pear, orange, a little quince paste, apricot. Creamy finish. Very nice. Hides the 7.1% well.

Little sample at the brewpub. Pours a clear gold with a wisp of white head. Nose has a lot of honey, some cheap wine, a little candle wax, dripping ripe fruit, pears/apples, some pinot gris. Flavor is similar, slick honey, chrysanthemum, yeast, a little pepper. Slick finish. Solid biere de miel.

Growler shared by Travlr at the April 2014 Charlottesville tasting, 4/5/14. Pours a clear copper color with a thin frothy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of bready malt, caramel, spice, marzipan, candied fruit. The taste is marzipan, caramel, toffee, candied citrus. Medium bodied, low carbonation, mild lingering spice.

Earthy potato and rutabaga aroma. Clear copper, thin head. Root vegetables. Not infected necessarily, just not good.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a hazy gold with some sudsy white head. Nose is grassy, cheese rind, yeast, white flour, a little doughy, a little grainy. Flavor is lightly sweet, lightly tart, a little lemony, some grass, some lime, a little straw, some white rice, flower petals. Crisp, dry finish. Real nice.

Great initial aroma of pungent, robust malt and dark chocolate. Pours cloudy black with good head and lacing. Finish doesn’t completely follow through on intense initial promise, with light bitterness and a palate a touch too watery for style. Soft carbonation. Tap at brewpub.

Nice well packaged biere de garde. Pours cloudy red with some head and lacing. Some light doughy yeast and a little earthiness. Palate is a touch on the watery side. Finish is a little wine like with sour and light sweet fruit notes. Soft carbonation. Love that these guys keep going for the uncommon styles. Tap at brewpub.
