Light smoke and some dried prune, though without the sugary caramelized sense. Only light florals, and only a little sweetness. Black pour without much head. Light bitter finish. Not a bad beer, though not sure how well they hit the style here. Easy drinking at least. Tap at brewery.

Pleasant bretta-infused lager. It’s been a while since I had the regular blanc slate, so hard to compare. Pours golden with OK head. Light bitter sour finish. Grapefruit bretta, lemon zest. Tap at Shaw location.

Definitely the best West Coast Black pils that I remember having. Also, coincidentally, the worst West Coast black pils I remember having. But I’m an optimistic today. Actually pleasant. Roast, some lime, licorice—like a black IPA more than anything. Bitter end. Tap at Shaw location.

I get a lot more oyster in this beer than I do from your average oyster stout. Lighter malt variety here gives more space for oyster flavour. I’m not sure that’s a great thing, mind you. This has lots of lemon and sea water sense. Some doughy bread yeast. Hazy golden pour without much head. Tap at brewery.
