Draft in honor of Fred Echardt, who I had the pleasure of meeting at Fred Fest a couple of years ago. Cloudy pale yellow color, white head. Aroma of lightly tart lemon and orange bitters. Taste is softly sour orange. Nice. Here’s to you, Fred.

On tap at Black Squirrel, pours a murky amber with some creamy, white head. Nose has stale bread/malt, some apple, some blood orange, caramel, booze. Flavor follows, cheap malt, caramel, honey, orange. Medium bodied and perhaps a bit under attentuated.

On tap at Black Squirrel pours a hazy gold with some creamy, white head. Nose is interesting, there’s some gose character lurking but plenty of tangering and lemon too, a little perfume. Tastes like a Pellegrino soda, spritzy and bright, some tangering, grapefruit juice. Finishes without much acid or tartness.

Beautiful pour followed by average aroma and taste. Hazy yellow golden body, small creamy head. Aroma is initially yeast, but not very full. Taste falls flat, dry and chalky, more of an APA than a Belgian, yeast seems to be the only thing driving it in that direction. Average
