(bottle, 33cl) Cloudy, amber to copper colour with a big and slightly tanned foamy head. Citric, almost a bit ascorbic and mildly spicy hoppy aroma with notes of sour dough. Sourish and slightly bitter-tart flavour, rather light bodied with a modest carbonation. Sour doughy malty taste with citrus-fruity hops; dry and sour, delicately bitter finish. Already infected, the bb-date says 1.Jan.2014. 23.VII.13

(bottle, 33cl) Cloudy, amber colour with a short and slightly tanned foamy head. Fruity hoppy and caramel-malty aroma with notes of pine apples and other exotic fruits, accompanied by a subtle herbal and milky touch. Moderately bitter and slightly tart flavour, quite light bodied according the abv; calm and matured carbonation. Dry and mildly cara-malty start with present hoppy accents; quite dry and harshly bitter finish with medicinal/iodinic notes. Not very rounded but it works for me. 22.VII.13

330ml bottle. Cloudy pinkish amber colour with average to huge, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Sourish fruity aroma, hints of plum, cherries, red berries, hay. Taste is tart to sourish fruity, a touch of red currant, gooseberry, dry hints of fruit parings. Has not much - if not nothing - to do with an IPA; would qualify as Sour Ale, but probably it’s just infected. And, by the way, once and for all, a note to the brewers and merchandisers of German IPAs: please stop spreading the colonial history myth of IPAs and the necessity of intense hopping for storage life purposes. Have a look at Mitch Steele’s book ’IPA: Brewing Techniques, Recipes and the Evolution of India Pale Ale’. Just do a good beer with a caramel malt backbone and some adequate hopping. Damn.

Bottle:Amber coloured, stable yellowish head with a little lace, sourish nose with llts of vegetable, some impotent hops in the background; moderate bitter-sweet flavour with a sourish touch, very light bodied for a beer of 8.0%; slightly lingering sourish-bitter finish. A beer of poor quality, surely infected, even though the BBF is 01/14…

bottle from Bierzwerg. Hazy golden colour, mid-sized white head. Hoppy nose. Medium-bodied, malty base with dry hops, that has resiny and fruity flavours, mainly citrus fruit with a tropical touch. Nice.

33 cl bottle @ Timo A, BBE 01.01.2014
Aroma has caramel, vegetable notes, citrus and gooseberry bush. Flavour is messy with gooseberry bush, caramel and nettles. Messy and quite nothing to do with IPA. Not a complete disaster though.

330ml bottle. Filmy amber colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Fruity aroma, hints of red berries, peach and banana, a touch of mandarine, very cautious hints of honey, resin, pine. Taste is minimally to moderately sweet fruity, hints of banana, a touch of honey. Slightly too sweet; has the character of a beer containing wheat malt [it doesn’t].
