We are beer experts; we’ve dedicated much of our lives to earning everything we can about beer and beer culture around the world. One thing we know for sure- beer is for sharing. Not everyone thinks consciously about the temperature of their beer, or the quality of the foam, and on and on, but it affects perception of the beer. We think about these things, a lot, so you don’t have to if you just want to enjoy a beer. We know beer, and will talk beer until doomsday with anyone who wants to, but we’re not going to be all smarty-pants about it. Sometimes you just want to have a beer, you know?
Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours near black with an off white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of dark grain and a touch of chocolate with a hint of earthy pine underlying. Flavor has a combination of earthy chocolate and pine that grows with a dark grain backbone.
On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear straw yellow with a large white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a bright grass with a touch of citrus and a light grain backbone. Flavor has more grain with a decent amount of grass and just a touch of citrus in the finish.
Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear yellow gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has light citrus and pepper with a good amount of rye coming through. Flavor has light citrus with a growing rue note that lends a bit of spiciness to the finish.
Cask at the brewery. Pours a clear dark amber brown with a tan head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has toast and bread with a light nuttiness supporting. Flavor has a nice nutty bread note with a hint of earthy chocolate in the finish.
Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has bitter citrus and some rind with a bit of earthy grain backing. Flavor has light grains and light citrus with some bread and grass backing.
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear dull gold with a large white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma is straw forward with growing hay and a bit of sweet grain supporting. Flavor has hay and a bit of herbal grass with straw and light sweet grain backing.
