On tap at Flying Saucer. Has a cloudy golden color with a small white head. The aroma is very hoppy with light piney notes. Decent lacing on the glass. The taste is also very hoppy with citrus and a nice bitter finish. A good IPA from Real Ale.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of MaltOMeal. Hazy dark orangey brown with a tall and bubbly dissipating beige head. Aroma of toasted caramel and nuts. Medium body, sweetish roasted malt, nuts and a lightly ashy edge. The finish is lightly bitter. Generally quite OK. 220608

Rated June 2008. Courtesy of lb4lb via trade. Pours with initial explosion of foam upon opening with slightly hazy copper body and thin off white head. The aroma is pretty big with odd tart fruitiness, mild malt sweetness, over attenuated honey and urine. The odd tartness and urine notes seems out of place (maybe I didn't need to include here) and creates a very different aroma compared to most barleywines I've had. The taste isn't nearly as tart and has sweet malts to start followed by fruity tartness that enters early and only becomes more tart as the experience progresses. I get a hint of caramel too but it is far too meek a note

Bottled. thx to an american friend of Noize. Clear copper color. Aroma of chocolat, toffee, roasted malt, though soft. Taste of cocoa powder, bit chocolat, malt. Bit dry finish. Bit unbalanced I would say.

Clear amber colour, off-white head. Some barn-yard and earthy aromas. Flavours of medicine, yeast and caramel malts. Heavy beer, but alcohol well hidden. Very special. Update: flavour of sour fruits. -0.4

On tap at flying saucer. Has an orange amber color with a small off white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is a strong clove aroma. The taste is also clove and citrus. A good abbey from real ale.
