Bottle pout at Jam. First in the second set of 3 tasters of Sookuu. Dazzling. Clear and slightly oily looking. Nice fruity nose, koji and dust. Rich rice flavour, nicely fruity, alcohol burn. Simple, straightforward and delicious. Great junmai character. Strong burn.

Bottle pour at Jam. Oily, icy, clear. Nose of rich, sweet rice, caramel, melon, not hugely fragrant but very complex. Sweet and fruity flavor, cherry, apple, alcohol burn, pepper. Wow--lovely fruit, ginjo-ka, very sweet but balanced by alcohol. Peppery finish. Lovely.

Glass poured at Jam. Yellow tint, oily, nose is spicy koij, pear. Very soft, silky body, oily. Slightly funky like a kimono, sweet, rich, estery flavors. Then dried out a bit, dusty with light funk, alcohol heat. Very tasty and complex.

Pour at Jam. Oily, slightly icy looking. Sweet, ricey nose, fruit and candy, peach, banana. Rich and oily, sweet flavor, thick rice, very fruity, pepper and spice. A great junmai, very rich and fruity.

Glass at Wachi. Oily, slightly yellow, clear. Big rice nose, some spice, peppery, mizuame. Flavor is sweet, full, and ricey, with caramel, pepper, vanilla, mizuame. Thick and rich body, very smooth. Lovely stuff, big and lots of rice. It does end up feeling a bit too sweet, though, and gets cloying. Great in small quantities.

Glass at + Sake bar. Looks like summer, fresh and clean and appetizing, with a bit of haze. Aroma of citrus and tropical fruit. Flavor of mango, peach, melon, pepper. Sweet and fruity but finishes dry and clear. Nice stuff.
