(bottle, 34cl) Hazy, pale golden colour with a short frothy layer. Yeasty, pale malty aroma with discreetly fruity notes of citrus/lemon and pears. Sweet-bitter flavour, light bodied but not watery; smooth carbonation. Pale malt-character with notes of white bread and lemony fruity notes; mildly bitter and subtle fruity hoppy finish. 10.XII.10

Bottle, Rainhall Drinks Co, Accrington. Super hazy golden pour with a big crushed chefs hat sullied white head. Lorra sediment. Nose was yeast, bubblegum and a hint of cinammon. Flavour had some slightly spicy hop, with notes of tea and vague fruit. Dryish bitter finish. Slightly drab, but drinkable and probably one of the better South African beers I’ve had, which sadly isn’t saying an awful lot.

Bottle Rainhall Drinks, Accrington. Super murky burnt orange pour with sediment aplenty and a minimal off white head. Aroma was burnt toast, malts and fruits. Flavour had sweetish malts with some nuttiness, which evolved to reveal a lingering bitter finish. Slight metallic tang there also, and this had a somewhat confused and unrefined character to it. Not a complete calamity though.

340ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden with no head. Aroma is skunky and some grassy hops. A bit buttery to start then a hint of lemon. Nice hop bite on the finish. Boring.

Bottle (courtesy of Koelschtrinker - danke). Sweet-tart peach and bubblegum malt and musk aroma. Cloudy orange tan color color with minimal head. Sweet peach, musk, bitter clove and wheat malt flavor. Extremely unusual - pretty good beer though.

13th November 2008. Cloudy gold and amber beer. Frothy white head - much sediment left in the bottle. Tangy malt - smooth - slightly creamy. A little dry hop bitterness in the finish. Drinkable which is a definite improvement on the other beers from this brewery which have now unsurprisingly dissapeared from market!

340ml bottle from Bacchanalia, Cambridge. Poured hazy amber with a trace of white head, heavy sediment and light carbonation; sweet, grainy aroma; smooth with a malty flavour and a soapy texture; the finish is crisp and biscuity, with perhaps a hint of wet cardboard about it. THis is much less impressive than the West Coast Ale.

340ml bottle from Bacchanalia, Cambridge. Poured hazy reddish amber with a thin cream head, heavy sediment and light carbonation; sharp resinous hop aroma; thin, watery body with a strongly hoppy flavour and a soapy texture - very much in the American style; the finish is fruity and spicy and dry from the hops.
