(Bottle 33 cl) Dark, reddish amber with a dense head. Rich malty and nutty aromas. Very full, potent and rounded body. Loads of caramel notes, sweet malt and a solid dose of hops. And then some very spicy notes. Very delicious brew. 041200

Bottle. Rich amber brown beer with a nice off-white head. Light sweet malt aroma with caramel and some spice. Caramel flavor with a bit of spice. Medium bodied (a bit too light). Some alcohol. A bit too sweet. Just doesn’t bring enough.

500ml bottle from Sainsbury. Deep ruby in colour with very thin head. Nice malty raisiny aroma with chocolate and also more subtely syrup and hop too. OK in mouth, then nice alcoholic kick, with grainy choc and some good raisins/toffee and again drying hop. Not bad at all.

Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Been looking forward to having this. Ruby colour with thin lasting beige head. Lovely malty aroma with peppery hops and an almost meaty quality. Flavours are toffee/caramel and milk chocolate with tangy peppery hops. Full in mouth. Finish has drying hop and some nice citruc fruit. Nice warming strong bitter

(Bottle 50 cl) Slightly hazy amber colour with a small, creamy, white head. Hoppy, dry aroma. Malty, dry beer with a discreet bitter finish and some nutty notes. Decent all right but not really what I would’ve expected from a Christmas beer. 011005

Bottle. Prune and brown sugar aroma. Reddish brown color - slightly cloudy with moderate head. Sweet nutmeg and prune malt flavor with moderate alcohol and bitter finish. A tasty barley wine that isn’t overpowering.

Bottle. Golden/amber. Hoppy citric lemon nose. Really refreshing after a bike ride. White lasting head, tangy hops on end. Light refreshing not a lot of malt or depth but pretty nice overall

[At the Duke of Wellington, Notting Hill, London] A light yellow beer with a white head. The aroma is primarily of citrus, combined with light notes of malt. The flavor is of lemon and malt - on a thin body. Boring.
