Bottled 3-99. Applearoma. Yeasty taste with some hopbitterness. Little lacing. Hints of apple. A bit thin, probably because of old age.

Bottled 2-99. No head at all. Raisinny portoaroma. Raisin, porto, chocolate and apple flavors. Good lacing. Fine chocolate finish.

Bottle jan ’01. Chocolate and porto aroma and flavor. The beer starts to lose some body, but still is very lively. Bitter chocolate and grapes aftertaste.

Backlog. Bottle from 2001, enjoyed in 2008. Aroma’s: sweet, port/sherry, fruit, old, little roasted. Flavor: moderate sweet, somewhat roasted, old-ish. Body: light to medium. Finishes with some roast, sweet, just lightly bitter. Nicely evolved.

Meer oude aantekeningen. Deze fles was beduidend minder oud dan de Extra, maar toch ook al even bewaard. Kleur was goud tot oranje. Wit schuim met weinig retentie. Aroma's van kandij, fruit, wat zoetig retronasaal. Smaak was slechts lichtjes zoet. Stevig alcoholgevoel, warmend. Medium body. Iets bittere afdronk. In z'n soort prima, en net niet te oud geworden.

Af en toe kom ik nog eens oude aantekeningen tegen. Gebotteld maart 2001, gedronken na 3,5 jaar.... Amber/koperen kleur. Weinig schuim, maar genoeg koolzuur. Geur van oud bier, fruitig, zoetig, bettje karamelmoutig. Smaak is lichtjes karamelmoutzoetig. Lichte body. Smaak blijft nog even hangen. Op zich was het prima te drinken, maar duidelijk iets te lang bewaard.
