Our mission is to bring to our customers the finest and freshest brews as flavorful alternatives to mass-marketed mainstream products. All Legend beers are unpasteurized and made from only two-row and specialty barley malt, hops, water and yeast.

2005 vintage (most likely) courtesy of footbalm. Pours crystal clear copper with thin white head. The aroma is muted pine and fir tree hoppiness and some malt sweetness way out in the background. The flavor has an initial burst of carbonation induced pine hop non bitterness. Pretty good for the age on this brew. The flavor also carries mildly roasted malt sweetness from beginning to end. I should compare this experience to a fresh sample at some point.

Bottle from Whole Foods Market Charlottesville. Dark chocolate brown pour with a medium head and decent lacing. Milky roasted malt aroma with some chocolate notes. Mocha like taste with slight tartness and bitterness. Something seems to be missing, but still very pleasant. Body is somewhere between thin and medium.

Bomber from Wine Warehouse. Are they really comparing their beer to Gatorade? Wow Hazy orange color with a quickly disappearing head. Very spicy bubblegum aroma. Some slightly astringent notes. Yeasty wheat taste with very strong spice. Some citrus and banana as well. Very effervescent.

Bottle from Whole Foods Charlottesville. A friend of mine complained of an extraordinarily rotten vegetal type note to this from the draft version (i had the Ivienna). We’ll see. Amber color with moderate head. Tart, fruity gummy bear nose. Odd. Same with the taste. Nothing rotten here, but it definitely does have notes of elementary school fruit cocktail (in other words, foul), along with piney hop notes. Fairly drinkable, but weird, and no reason to drink ever again.

Had this on cask a couple of weeks ago and it was awesome so I thought I would re-rate the base beer. Bomber from Whole Foods Market Charlottesville. Pours a hazy amber color with a medium sized creamy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of floral hops, caramel and a fruity finish. The taste is caramel malts, herbal and floral hops, fruity notes. Medium bodied. Still not great, but much better than before (which was 4/3/5/3/10/2.5).

Deep caramel/copper coloured body with a nearly perfect tan head that tops the beer - ruby when held to a light, this beer looks great! Aroma of fresh hops, clean toasted malt, raisins, nuts and a bit of grass. Medium-bodied; Strong hops up front with a citrus and grassy taste, combined with malt near the end of the taste and a punch of nuts to finish it out. Aftertaste a bit more refined - some alcohol, a lot of nuts and pit fruits and a bit of bitter hops - very nice! Overall, a good beer, more of an Imperial IPA than an Imperial Brown, but very nice indeed! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased yesterday, 31-May-2008 at Kybecca in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Rated May 2008. Courtesy of Degarth. You ROCK!! my friend. Pours deep clear copper with nice tan head. The aroma is nice and rich with caramel, sticky sweet malts, mildly roasted malts, mild pine hops and faint dark fruity esters. The taste has sweet sticky malts followed by a load of roasted to caramel malts and mild melded blunted pine hop bitterness. Very nice. Near the finish the dark fruity esters show up to create a pleasing bookend to the experience.
