Description
Casa Agria Specialty Ales is a small brewery focusing on mixed fermentation farmhouse style ales and barrel aged wild ales in Ventura County, California. Like much of California, Ventura County agriculture and farming has played a vital role in the development of the communities here throughout time. The mild climate and rich soil allows for several harvests throughout the year making it one of the most valuable resources here. For these reasons the farmhouse style is a perfect style to refresh during a warm dry winter and a mild summer day alike from one harvest to the next. Further influence is found in the food ingredients and diverse cultural traditions of the people who shaped the California of today.

On tap at De Garde, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out notes of oak, light funk and an earthiness. Flavour is tart, dry and woody - with notes of oak, wood, and earthy tartness. Not overly complex, but it works decently enough.

On tap at De Garde, pours a cloudy yellow with no head. Aroma smells like a medicine cabinet - like dental floss and a weird tartness. Flavour is the same, with nasty earthiness and medicine cabinet once again. These guys don't know what they're doing here. Not good.

On tap at De Garde quarterly, thanks to Shad for the assist. Pours a hazy orange with medium off white head. The aroma is yeast, apricot, earth. Thin mouth, light tartness, stone fruit, easy to drink, good.

On tap at De Garde, pours an opaque cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out fresh apricots, with some pits and earthiness. Flavour follows suit, with lots of stone fruits, apricots, and light farmhouse notes. Rather earthy and somewhat muffled. Solid but could use some tweaking.
