An orange beer with a medium and blond head. Aroma has some tropical fruits and grapefruits, more pine needles, hint of fructose. Taste has some mangos and citrusfruits, the bitterness is dominating, pine needles and resin. Dry and long end. The body is strong enough, almost medium bodied, nice carbonation. Strong bitterness is dominating and thus the fruitness is slightly suffering.

Bottle. It pours almost black, with a small, beige head. It’s quite heavy on the nose, with licorice, some roasted malts and coffee, a touch of grass and some dark chocolate. It’s full-bodied and slightly warming on the palate, rather sugary sweet. Licorice, roasted malts, some bonfire notes and coffee. Grassy, bitter hops and some dark chocolate in the flavor, lasting for a good while. Quite nice this one, but a bit messy I think. 150227

Rund malziger Antrunk mit zunehmenden Schokoladennoten. Der Hintergrund ist allerdings wenig intensiv, nur leicht herb, zum Ende hob kurz wärmend. Durchaus gut trinkbar. 10/10/9/9//9

A murky, golden beer with an almost medium and white head. Aroma is interesting and succesfully. Wheat, some lemon and coriander, spicyness and belgian fruits, some sweetness. Taste is also quite unique but succesfully. Spicyness, lemon, ginger, coriander, nice sweetness and nice sweetness with light wheat. Almost medium bodied, refreshning, sprarking carbonation is fine. Interesting, refreshning and succesfully beer, overally spicy.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BB 01/16, from Alko, 20150219) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had burnt malts, dark chocolate, vanilla and lactic sweetness. Palate was rather full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, vanilla, sweetness, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was boozy, burnt and bitter. An unbalanced and too boozy brew.

A black beer with a dense, medium and light brown head. The aroma has liquirice, coffee, some sweetness of chocolate, some harsh bitterness in the background. Taste is roasted, coffee and liquirice. Strong bitterness in the end and that’s slightly herbal. Almost full bodied, low carbonation. Feisty. Good beer but still the final touch is missing. After 8 months aging, the beer is clearly more balanced and smoother. Also dried fruits in the aroma and taste. Points 37 -> 39.

33cl bottle from Alko. Black colored, thin, lacing brown head. Cocoa, some licorice notes, brown sugar in aroma. Flavor has cocoa, salt, roasted malt, woody, burnt notes. Finish has more cocoa, hint of tobacco and some slight citrusy hoppy notes . Medium bodied. I need more roastedness and more licorice in my Imperial stouts.
