Description
Nightjar Brew Co is the brand created by the team behind Slightly Foxed, established in 2011. This is a continuation of business – not one company going ‘under’ to re-emerge as another – same AWRS, VAT number, company number etc. After many successful years creating award-winning and popular cask beers, the brewery took a decision to undertake a significant rejuvenation.
But unlike a new entrant into the market, we come with many years of knowledge, learning, innovation, and expertise that’s mandatory for crafting a product that customers in 2018 are seeking out and expecting.

Cask @ Baum, Rochdale. Golden-blonde with a head. It has a hoppy tropical fruitiness and a heavier malty influenced aftertaste.

Cask @ Nightjar, Hebden Bridge. Hazy golden with a creamy-frothy head. Smooth and hoppy and fairly crisp. Doesn't have a lot of flavour but sessionable.

Handpull cask at Nightjar, Hebden Bridge. Light yellow/gold and hazy with a tight white head. Big melon notes, some icing sugar, white grapefruit rind. Tastes sweet and herbal with an intense shot of dill, this fades quickly to reveal a gentle fruity bitterness which is increasingly prominent up to the long finish. More melon and a little resurgence of the dill in the aftertaste. Smooth holy, soft carbonation. Weird but somehow delicious. One of those beers that grows on me.

Cask @ Nightjar, Hebden Bridge. Hazy yellow-gold with a small head. It’s a citrus based brew but inoffensively so with a gentle citric-smooth tasting fruitiness.

Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a small cream head. Roast malts and a general nuttiness in the aroma. Pretty similar in the mouth, a creamy texture with flavours of roast malts, burnt toast and oatmeal – plus some traces of vanilla. Finish is slightly sweet. Quite nice.

Cask at PoW, Farnborough. Aroma is chocolatey and creamy. Opaque dark brown. Slightly hazy. Frothy bubbly tan head. Light-medium bitter. Sweet but sour berry edge which then comes to the fore. Medium bodied. Creamy. Flat carbonation. Long astringent finish. Enjoyable if not overly exciting.
