About
Hinckley’s first and only Micro Brewery has been up and Brewing since August 2013, when brothers Tracy Ellis and Phil Woodward, both CAMRA members and Beer Enthusiasts opened the first commercial brewery in Hinckley since 1900.
In 2016 Tracy and Phil decided it was time to pursue other ventures and sold the Brewery on, Louise and Darren Lavender who are landlady and landlord of two local real ale pubs decided to branch out into the world of brewing , keeping the name and beer range, Elliswood Brewery has increased its customer base and continued to produce and supply quality craft to all over the UK, adding new beers and specials.
Changed name from Elliswood to New Buildings in 2020.

Cask at Tamworth Beer Fest. Aroma is sweet and raspberry. Flavourwise. It's also sweet with a bitter edge. Light. Thin. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Light Slick. Soft carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish.

Cask at Tamworth Beer Fest. Darkest cola brown. Thin foamy beige head. Aroma has spicy chocolate and tangy citrus. Flavourwise it's more bland. Sour with a sweet finish. Surprisingly thin. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Dece but not the whole product.

Cask at the White Swan JDW, Solihull. Poured a clear golden colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is light malt, light hops. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a smooth, somewhat light, big yeasty, light hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at Tamworth Beer Fest. Murky cola brown. No head. Aroma is chewy - cacao, caramel and saline. Flavourwise it's awful [clearly I was so disgusted I didn't bother expanding on this comment].Light to thin. Slick and stuff.

Gravity cask at the 31st Tamworth Beer Festival, Assembly Rooms Tamworth, day 2 - 05/09/2025.
Black with a tan head that soon thins.
Nose is roast malts, cocoa powder, toffee, brown bread.
Taste comprises mellow roast, coffee nip, caramel, dark malts.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close.
Okay ... didn't pick up any salt.

Cask at London North Western, Birmingham. Pours golden yellow with minimal off-white head. Not much of an aroma, just some vague lemony hints. In the mouth the immediate reaction is of how watery the texture is. It is sweet with hints of floral hops and citrus which gradually get stronger. Traces of melon and mango later leading to a slightly sticky finish. Not a bad beer just blandness personified.
