In 1908 Ernesto Günther and a group of investors founded in the city of Cusco, a branch of the Cervecería Alemana Günther & Tidow. In 1939 Cervecera Alemana Günther & Tido changed its name to Compañía Cervecera del Sur del Perú (Cervesur) and increased its production. In 2000 the company with its plants in Arequipa and Cusco, and with the popular brand Cusqueña, becomes part of the Backus Group (Backus y Johnston), thereby consolidating itself to the point of turning it into a company capable of competing in a globalized environment. Finally, in 2015, the Backus Group becomes part of AB InBev.

Copa lager. Aspecto rojo oscuro, en apariencia negro, con corona de espuma beige de poca persistencia. Aroma dulzón a malta y algo de chocolate, no huele mal. En boca para mi gusto es bastante desastrosa, desequilibradamente dulce, textura efímera. Personalmente espero no volverla a probar

Bottled. Deep brown colour with a small beige head. Aroma is syrup, some cardboard, mild toasted tones with some soy sauce and mild strange grainy tones. Flavour is cooked vegetables, mild toasted, syrupy and some mild wooden tones with cardboard as well.

Bottle from a friend. Golden, mid sized white head. Sweet malty nose. Grainy sticky sweet malt with rather harsh woody-dusty hops.

Ein Hefeweizen aus Peru. Hm, das ist schon was exotisches. Recht malziger Geruch. Geschmacklich auch malzbetont, etwas gekochte Früchte. Leicht süßlich. Hopfung recht dezent. Insgesamt tut sich da nicht sooo viel, ist aber schon ganz OK. Recht anspruchslos zu genießen. Ist in etwa auf dem Niveau des besten No-Name Billig-Weizen, dass man bei Aldi / Lidl / Netto / Penny bekommen kann. Wenn man mehrere leere Flaschen zusammenbindet, kann man sich damit dann eine Panflöte bauen?
